Santa Paws helps raise hundreds for animal rescue every year.
Each year in conjunction with Qld Staffy & Amstaff Rescue hundreds of pictures are taken in pet stores around Brisbane to raise money to help continue the rescues good deeds
Christmas time can be a trying time for animal rescue as not only is it busy due to dumping of animals due to holidays where the owners do not care enough to rehome or seek accommodation for pets before going away, there is also the "unwanted gift" rush after Christmas or the "out with the old" before a new puppy/kitten in bought for Christmas.
You might think this behaviour is deplorable and you are right, but it happens EVERY YEAR without irresponsible owners blinking a eye and the implications for their pets.
Sonny is a current foster boy with Qld Staffy & Amstaff Rescue.
Events like, Santa Paws help to raise money and awareness for rescues to educate the public and feed and give the veterinary assistance needed by rescue dogs.
With the help of pet stores that host these events, the rescue can get valuable donations or food, pet products and cash to help out with the influx of incoming animals at this time and throughout the year.
It is also a great way to showcase the current foster dogs in care and to educate potential new foster carers on just how easy it is to save a life by opening your home to an animal in need.
UPCOMING EVENTS
The next Santa Paws that I will be involved in is on, Saturday the 8th of November at PETBARN Underwood, Qld and I would love to see you there.
Drop in and say hello, and bring your furry, feathered, or scaly family with you for a photo with Santa.
Qld Staffy & Amstaff Rescue will have a stall there as well for a sausage or two, or some cool merch. You might even get to hug a few foster dogs as well.
